Preventing "Reboot required after software update" "failed to install hmpa64"

Hello, everybody,

since some time you can read in the forum again and again that there are problems with the installation of updates for hmpa64 (Intercept X).
The Sophos Central Admin Console displays alerts, which do not resolve even after a restart, etc.

The problem results from the "Fast Startup" or "Hibernation" function, which has been enabled by default since Windows 8.

The solution, which is already widely used in this forum and is also recommended by Sophos support, is to disable Fast Startup or Hibernation.
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\HiberbootEnabled)

The question remains, why doesn't Sophos go one of two ways that are personally obvious to me?

1. give a reboot message on the client system, which the user must actively confirm (not this small 5 second pop-up at the edge of the screen)

2. setting the above registry entry during installation, or at least as an optional option during installation
