File Integrity Monitoring ?

Does anyone know if there are plans to add FIM to Sophos Server protection?

Reviewing this list it seems to be the only feature not including that is included in all the competitors products.

I'd love to use our existing investment in Sophos to meet a requirment for FIM and not have to use another product.

Thanks

  • Hi Steve,

We due to release a file integrity monitoring feature to Central Server Protection; this should be in the next 6-8 weeks. It would be great to speak to you about your specific needs and to demo what our offering will provide. I'll send you a PM.

    Regards,

    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

As commented above, FIM is going to be a compliance requirement for us as well, and we would not like deploy another software solution to cover it.

Do you have an exact deadline for Windows servers? and, would be this feature integrated on Advanced Intercept X or Server protection?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Luis,

We are due to start our roll out of File Integrity Monitoring for Windows Servers next week; this should complete and be available by the end of October. This feature will be available in both the Central Server Protection and the Intercept X Advanced for Server licenses.

    Regards,

    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

Thanks so much for your quick response.

    Kind Regards

  • Luis and others,

If Sophos were not adding File Integrity Monitoring to the Sophos Central server products, how might you have met your compliance need?  Another product? Manual compensating control?

And could I ask what changed in your business that you need this requirement now for compliance?  Were you previously PCI: DSS compliant?

Discussed here is the desire for FIM on Windows and Linux servers.  Do you envision that you might eventually need it for Windows laptops/desktops?

    Gail

  • We are required to become PCI Compliant by the end of next year, this is our main reason for this.

I guess we would have installed a different FIM specific product or looked to replace with product that has FIM integrated.
