Sophos Device Encryption Service is stopped on large number of endpoint which use Sophos Central Endpoint

Hello,

I see that Sophos Device Encryption Service is stopped on large number of endpoint which use Sophos Central Endpoint. The device encryption is not applied to the endpoint. Is there anyway to resolve the issue permanently?

This is a known issue, especially seen on lower spec, maybe non-SSD computers.

We are still working on the issue. As a temporary workaround can you try changing the Sophos Device Encryption Service Start type to "Automatic (Delayed)" and see if this resolves the issue.

I would say for the short term there are potentially 2 workarounds:

1. Increase the services start timeout value for all services from say 30 seconds to 60 seconds (60000 for the registry key).

2. Change the service to delayed start.
