How to kill a scan once its started

Hi all,

Is there a safe way of stopping or pausing a scan once you've started this on a server? We have Sophos cloud with a standard server license.

I worry if i kick off a scan on a large server, it will take an age and may grind it to a halt.

A pause button or Stop button would be handy.

    I always thought it odd, all previous versions have had pause and stop.   

    If you do need to do it you can always restart the Sophos Anti-Virus service.  The act of stopping that service will stop the scan.  To reset the UI element, you can set:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sophos\Sophos UI\AdapterNotifications\SAV\
    UIScan from 1 (running) to 0.

    of course, if Tamper Protection is enabled, you would have to disable it first so a little awkward but at least it's possible if needed.

    Thanks Jak.

    I was hoping to avoid the need to kill the process and / or modifying the registry. 

    I do hope Sophos bring this option back as i can imagine quite a few users would find this helpful.
