"Tag" machines that are in stock/off network

Hi,

We're pretty new to Sophos so I'm getting used to a lot of the settings. One thing the product we moved from had was "Tags" so when running compliance reports for any machine that was out of date but had a tag of "Stock" we knew that's why it wasn't updating and could effectively ignore it, until such a time we rotated our stock machines onto the network. We do it periodically but depending on stock levels/other projects it might be quite a while before we get through them all.

Does Sophos have any similar options? I know I could use a computer group and put all stock machines into that. But the computer groups do not appear to be visible on reports meaning there's a bit more manual process to be done to thin down reports of non-compliance. Is there a way/report that would allow us to tag a machine as in-stock so we can omit these from our reports?

Thanks

Gary

  • Thanks for the response but unfortunately that doesn't appear to help, the report I'm looking at is the "Computer Report" which has no filtering options, and neither do the columns allow for groups to be shown to filter out in that way. The report is static and barring sorting/searching by name is un-editable with regards to the information that is shown.

The link you provided only states that you may be able to filter by information which I cannot.

Unless I'm missing a more flexible report?

    Thanks

  • Hi Gary,

Devices' groups will show under Overview -->Devices

Perhaps something like this could work for you:

    Overview---> Devices
Filter --> Computers with a medium or bad status
That will return the devices that meet that criteria, and the end column will show their group (and you can sort groups via it as well).

Also, if you access Endpoint Protection ---> Logs & Reports ---> Users, you will see the groups the users belong to.

If the available options do not meet your needs, I suggest you put a request via Sophos Ideas
    Here's a similar request:

  • Thanks Barb, I figured this would be the case in that there isn't a report that contains the information I want.

I'll submit/bump that thread on the other thread.

    Thanks
