Central installation was successful but Sophos AutoUpdate failed to install at the end ?

we are currently in the process of upgrading our on-premise sophos endpoint version 10.8 to the sophos central cloud version 10.8.1.2.


As part of our deployment testing we are using the downloaded sophos 1.1.19.0 installer along with added local proxy server settings to be able to run a centralised upgrade of existing clients using a Quest Kace 1000 deployment server.


I have packaged the deployment using the online sophos guidelines and this was used yesterday to update two PC's one windows 7 x64 and another windows 10 x64. The deployment was successful on both devices, however the windows 10 x64 PC did not install the sophos autoupdate service successfully so it is therefore showing the service as missing.
I have access to the sophos central portal in order to disable tamper protection and have applied the fixes outlined in both the advandced and online self help guidelines, however these have proved fruitless as the service is missing. The installation on the windows 10 x64 PC is now unable to update the updated installation and just hangs, this is emulated on the sophos central cloud too when 'update now' is selected.
We therefore have an upgraded sophos installation on a windows 10 x64 device with no autoupdate facility. Can anyone identify why the installation was successful up to the point of then not installing the Sophos AutoUpdate service again? The cloud installer log shows the following..
