HitmanPro.Alert on SQL Server node, C: disk load at 100%

Hi,

We have HitmanPro.Alert installed on a windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 server with over a dozen SQL server 2008 R2 and 2012 instances running.

We are seeing the disk load on the C: drive is at 100% for most of the time.

When I open task manager and then resource monitor and take a look at the disk activity section, I can see that there are over a dozen 'System' processes (running under PID 4) with file names of C:\Windows\CryptoGuard\???????? each with write times in the many Mb/sec range.

This looks to be having an impact on the SQL server instances and I wanted to know if there was a way to reduce this.

Many Thanks

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

I think in the immediate term, turn off CryptoGuard in policy for the impacted servers, you might also need to disable the HitmanPro.Alert service. This should bring down the load on the disk, I would then ask that you open a support ticket so that we can investigate the issue with you.

There is a 'Contact Support' link at the bottom right of the page.

    Regards,
