Update installed previous version this morning

Hi,

Sophos Endpoint installed a previous version this morning via autoupdate. The version now installed is 10.7.6 VE3.70.2, the version installed before was 10.8.1 VE3.71.

Any information about this? Starting update process manually doesn't install a newer version now.

  • I am seeing this at a bunch of clients as well.
And across the board, almost every single endpoint is calling for a reboot.

Either "reboot recommended" or "reboot required"

    Is this a roll back?
I tried to chat with Support but he didn't have any answers and all of the links he gave me were for onsite, not Central.

  • Seems to be a roll back. The icon in the system tray also changed back to the old one (round with an S instead of a shield-like symbol with an S).

  • Same here. Is there an official reply from sophos regarding the rollback. i saw 2 bubble icons and one shield i my taskbar.

Started on monday morning. a bunch of clients bugged.... Thnx Sophos...

  • We have some issues since yesterday with Sophos Central.

Some Clients and Servers lost there network connectivity.

It was strange because the network itself seemed to be working, but as we tried something like nslookup www.google.de the process just hung up.

After disabling the option "Erkennung schädlicher Datenverkehrs" (Sorry don't have the english version, should say some like Detection of malicous Traffic", the problem disapeared.

Right now we have disabled this option, which worked for clients, but for now we are still having problems on some servers.

  • Hello Michael Schneider et al.,

    Erkennung schädlicher Datenverkehrs
very close - it's Malicious Traffic Detection. The reason for the downgrade is very likely that the version 10.8.1 MTD might cause network issues.

  • Hello Christian,

i found that article yesterday, but i thought that wasn't the problem.

We habe SBS 2011 and Windows 7 Client, but no XG Firewall, at least i thought.

I now found out, that there is a registered XG Firewall in the Sophos Central account, which is actually not the gateway of the clients, but it seems to be enough, to just have a linked XG in the Sophos Central account, that the problem appears. The Gateway of the clients is still a UTM.
