Installing SophosSetup.exe behind bad internet

A few weeks ago Sophos decided to change the installer and drop the support for the creation of a full installer (using the warehouse cache, vbs script and iExpress to create a self extracting executable). This means that I have to find an alternative way to deploy and update clients which are behind bad internet connections (many in the Global South).

Previously I distributed my Sophos full installer via USB stick but this is not possible anymore.

I've had a look at the Update Cache feature, but apparently this is only working for Windows servers. Many of the offices I support don't have Windows servers. Is it a possibility to run the Update Cache feature on a Win10 machine with some tweaks? Or are there other alternatives I can look at to make deployment work?

I found I could get the old installer to work if I set the date on the workstation back to February 5 or prior.
