We have been using the product for a couple of months now and it seems really unstable, or at the very least appears to be. Daily we get alerts that devices are not in compliance, that protection has been disabled, end point updates always seem to break a few machines etc. This makes this product an extremely hands on maintenance product, which no IT department has time for. At the very least the alerts need to auto resolve themselves. For example you get a report that Protection has been disabled. You go check the machine and it seems fine, in fact there was a point in time where simply restarting the PC caused these errors to be thrown. Another one is a warning about policy non compliance. You go check the PC and it seems fine, no problems listed under End point self help utility. If that is the case then the client should be robust enough to report back and clear these status events from the device. Seriously, I can't have a tech whose time is already precious running around checking all these PC's.
Here is another favorite one. If you have a problem PC and you need to reinstall there is a good chance that the removal process will fail. Causing you to have to go and manually clean out all the system components. if you miss something than the reinstall fails and you have to start all over again. Sophos has no good uninstallation script. I don't know what happened but yesterdays client update broke several PC's including mine. Getting sophos reinstalled has been.... a serious challenge.
Now Sophos has removed the ability to create a full installer for their product making deployment twice as long and prone to installation issues.
Am I missing something here?
