Mac OS 11, Intercept X EAP & TimeMachine

It seems that there is some evidence that TimeMachine Backups to NAS drives are disrupted by Intercept X EAP.

Basically, if you uninstall Sophos, it works, and if you install it, it doesn't. Is seen by anyone else?

Specifically it is a Western Digital EX2 Ultra NAS, connected by either cable or Wifi and the failure gives different errors, but usually the back up doe start, but stops after a few minutes. Connection to the share on the NAS through the finder are unaffected.

    Hi all,

    Definitely having issues with the EAP and Time Machine backups.

    I have two Synology drives (one in work, one at home), both just stopped working after 10.0.2 was released..

    Ive removed the MBP from Sophos Central, and disabled SIP so i could remove the SystemExtensions. Reinstalled from the console which gives 10.0.1 as default.

    Time Machine backups work fine..

    Added the device back into the EAP, upgrades to 10.0.2. kills the Time Machine backup.

    Have tried this with different variations... but it seems to be the 10.0.2 that kills it

    Same here. I can absolutely confirm this behavior with NAS / Synology and also OS X Server. Now switching to local backup. This is really no fun currently ;(. I'm ending up in "error: 112 no mountable file system" when you trace the backupd on big sur but this is not the underlying problem. Hope this one gets fixed soon ;(.
