Mac Home Edition 9.4 - Incomplete installation?

I've tried installing Sophos 9.4 several times on my Mac 10.6.8, and it refuses to run with the error message "Configuration daemon is not running"? Is there some way to get it to run?

Curious. Can you send me a bit of information about your h/w? Would like to know what CPU your machine is using.

I'm running Mac OS X with Snow Leopard (10.6.8), 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo with 6 GB of SDRAM. As mentioned above, I've had no issues running Sophos 9.2 till upgrading to 9.4.
