WORRISOME: Sophos Anti-Virus Stops Working

Hi here,

Today my Sophos shut off without warning, and it has done this other times, too.

First off: why?

What can I do?

How can I know if Sophos is working properly?

Thank you so much for your help! I am an artist and consider Banksy's arrest symbolic: are artists safe anywhere??

    I am trying to install the free tool from your website to try to fix an issue with On Access Scanning is disabled being grayed out. I am geting an error message and need to remove the existing sophos app. Can you tell me how to do this. I am running Yosemite. Thx
