Hello,
Today a message popped up saying a threat was found.
I opened the Quarantine Manager and it was listed there,
and suddenly it disapeared after 3 to 5 seconds.
Any ideas?

Hello,
It happened again.
This time I got a screenshot of the initial notification.
When I went to check the Quarantine Manager it was
listed there, and suddenly it disapeared after 2
seconds.
"Sophos Anti-Virus
Thtreat detected by Sophos Anti-Virus
'Virus/Spyware' Troj/Agent-AEJB has detected and
listed in Quarantine Manager.
Open Quarantine Manager... Close"
Any ideas?

I have the same problem with alerts throughout the day for a Troj/BredoZp-VS. When I open the Quarantine Manager it asks me to enter my password and at that time the threat (pathway) disappears. This has been going on now for over a week. Yesterday I downloaded version 9.0.6 and I had hoped this would clear up the problem. The initial scan showed no threats on my machine but this morning I got another alert for this threat. When I opened Quarantine Manager and entered my password it now says "Cleanup in progress" but in the box at the bottom where the threat pathway normally shows up it says "No selection". It appears to be hung up in this "Cleanup in progress" mode.
Can anyone tell me if this Troj/BredoZp-VS is something that would infect a Mac?
To re-post what I just put on another thread...
It is possible to experience detections (pop-up) and then the thing that was detected disappears on its own. Like if you hit a web site and that has code in the page linking off to some other place/file. The web cache having a bit of malware in it can cause an alert but then the cache is flushed before anything is moved. The other thing that causes this is emails downloading from web mail.
Generally nothing to worry about, but it can seem like you're chasing a ghost.

Thank you for your reply! Mine did finally resolve itself so it could have been something like you mentioned OR it could have been because one of the threats came via an e-mail attachment just about the time my Time Capsule backup occurred and it got backed up to the Time Capsule. I believe that was what happened in my case. I now have my preferences set to exclude the Time Capsule so that shouldn't happen again. I imagine that backup eventually deleted and that's when Sophos stopped picking up the threat. Thank you again for your help!
Thank you for the tip about Time Capsule. I've been going out of my mind for days trying to figure out why I keep getting a threat detected and then when I open Quarantine Manager it disappears before I can unlock and with no warning it's cleaned up.
I saw in other threads that it might be a webcache issue, but even after cleaning the cache from all my browsers and having everything closed I was still getting the popup message.
Just ecluded my Time Capsule backup from the live scanning and am running another full system scan just to be sure, but so far everything looks to be fixed. So thank you again!
EDIT: Okay, guess that didn't fix things after all.
