Sophos v9 causing problems

Has anyone had the problem with Sophos home for the Mac with it causing Firefox not to download web pages? I was on v8.0.14 and upgraded to v9 when I had news of same. However Firefox v23.0.1 stopped loading web pages. When I removed Sophos the problem disappeared. Am reluctant to use it again. My OS is 10.8.4

  • Hello Brynn,

Thanks for the information. Sounds like our network interception is causing the problem (rather than any network issues).

Do you have any other security software or network filtering software installed? Using the Apple Parental Controls feature? We do a lot of testing with the "stock" version of 10.8.4 (and I'm running it right now on my laptop with those features enabled) so we think there is something unique about your situation that we need to address.

You could send me a System Profile report (my direct email address is below). Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info... button > System Report.... button. This will contain a lot of detail about your system configuration, installed applications, etc. and might be useful to spot what is causing the problem. Note that although this report doesn't usually contain personally identifable information (and definitely not system credentials) you should review it prior to sending it to me.
