I really appreciate Sophos Anti-Virus ~ especially that it has remained free. To the above issue I find that "InterCheck" is performing its actions at inopportune times... I use my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8) with Parallels to run my futures trading platform using Windows ~ I can tell when "InterCheck" is running as my fans max out ~ this is not good when in the process of trading ~ "InterCheck" is stealing processor cycles from my trading platform.

It would be wonderful if we could schedule when "InterCheck" runs ~ for me I would tell Sophos Anti-Virus not to run between the hours of 05:00am pst ~ 01:30pm pst.

Would this be possible to implement in a future version?

Unfortunately, no... Intercheck is ALWAYS running, and if you have on-access scanning enabled, it ramps up whenever you're accessing files.

Most likely your issue here is that you hava a parallels volume that is being constantly updated -- and so the on-access scanner (intercheck) is constantly re-scanning this large volume.  As the parallels volume is never going to become malicious itself, your best bet is to exclude it from on-access scans and see if this fixes your problem.
