SAV only provides protection against malicious files (file level protection) -- which does include limited email protection for malicious phishing emails and Bredo-style attack emails.  The main Sophos product line (the stuff we charge people for) is aimed at businesses, not consumers -- our Anti-Spam line includes an appliance, a unix-based enterprise-level mail management system, an Exchange plugin, and a UTM with integrated lightweight mail filtering.

One of the benefits of Sophos solutions is the overlap expertise between products however -- SophosLabs integrates data in our malware, antispam and web control products, and analysts work across all data sets -- for example, I'm also a member of the core anti-spam team, and we follow threats through the entire landscape -- so if we receive an email sample, we'll follow web links, analyse payload files, etc. and protect against all portions of the attack -- and supply this protection data back to all products as applicable.

As far as free consumer products go, we've currently got the Mac product you're using, a stand-alone Windows scanner (which uses the same data), and a mobile app for iOS and Android.
