two copies of Sophos on desk top--trash or do what?

I have two copies of Sophos on my desk top.  How do I get them off the desk top?  Can I trash one copy?  The copies don't seem to want to be put in a folder to be out of sight.  This is becoming irritating and stupid.
How do I get them off the desk top?
And Why do I have two copies?

You shouldn't have any copies of Sophos on your Desktop. After running the installer you should have "Sophos Anti Virus" and "Remove Sophos" applications in your Application folder.

After the installation you can eject (right-click eject) the Sophos diskimage, which will still be on your desktop (not sure how/why you might have two of those, if this is what has happened).

Perhaps you simply have two copies of the downloaded installer file on the desktop, in which case you can trash or save them somewhere, after running the installer.

EDIT, noticing again your comment  "The copies don't seem to want to be put in a folder to be out of sight" makes me pretty sure that you are seeing the mounted diskimage from the downloaded .dmg file. I am guessing you are new to Macs, because a lot of Mac software is delivered by dmg files. After using the contents of the mounted diskimage you can eject it, and then save or delete the downloaded .dmg file.

    This article may help you:

Apologies if your problem is completely different.
