I got an email response from a friend I had just emailed and there was only a link. Since I had asked him if he was selling his house in the original email -- I stupidly clicked on the link thinking it was his home listing. WRONG.

Turns out this is some russian site and it opened the link and has probably installed spyware now right?

What the heck do I do?

Please help.

  • Did you download anything that asked you for a password when run?

So far, Mac malware isn't doing silent drive-by installation; it still uses social engineering to get you to provide your admin password to install the software.

So you're probably fine -- especially since *most* of these guys don't even have a Mac version of their malware yet.
