  • Hi MPB. Welcome to the forums.

Personally, I have had no issues starting up Windoze on my MBP in VMWare Fusion version 3.1.1. (Win7 and Win XP SP2)

I have set the On-access Scanning exclusion for my VMs. (On my computer, it's located at ~/Library/Application Support/VMWare Fusion/Virtual Machines; the location of the VMs on your machine may differ - it could be in the Documents folder). I guess setting the exclusions should help speed things up.

If setting the VMs in the Excluded Items still freezes your Windoze VM, try disabling the on-access scanner altogether when booting the VM.

(Note: I have not set an exclusion for the Bootcamp partition, even though I boot into my Bootcamp partition, and it still runs fine in VMWare Fusion.)

  • I just loaded SAV 9.0.7 on OSX 10.9.2.  When I have the on-access scanner turned on, my Windows VM (VMWare Fusion 6) hangs then shuts down.  When I turn off on-access scanner then the VM runs just fine.  I excluded the vm directory from the scan but still the same issue.

Is there an alternate solution to this besides turning off on-access scanner?

    Thanks.
