dock icon

    After downloading the disk image (.dmg), you need to open it and run the software installer found inside.  After the software has installed, you will find the blue shield in your Applications folder, and a black shield icon will show up in your menu bar.  The blue shield will only show up in your dock if you open the program either via the shield icon in the menu bar, or from your Applications folder.  If you want the shield icon to stay in your dock, simply drag it to a new location in the dock while it's running. or right click/click and hold select "Keep in Dock" from the contextual menu.
