False Positive-Internet Explorer corrupted

Hi, after 10 hours running Sophos Virus Removal Tool version 2.2 has found two False Positive. One was an old Joke and fortunately Sophos was unable tu clean it up (strange enough). Instead, unforunately, it cleaned up a 'Mal/Generic-S'. Aa a result, it took several minutes for me to open whatewer site in Internet (except Google), meaning in practice the impossibility to navigate. I suspect ih has corrupted something in the registry.

I was obliged to restore Win 7-64 bit to a previous configuration, before running the tool. Obviously I have totally lost my confidence in Sophos.

Does anybody else experience the same problem? Is there any better way to solve the issue? When you restore Windows you never know where it's going to happen!

Thanks for your help
