Macbook won't enter sleep mode after installing Sophos

Hello in here,

Since installing Sophos, my Macbook Pro will no longer enter sleep mode unless manually forced to do so. Closing the lid no longer puts the macbook to sleep. This has been the case since installing and running my first scan with Sophos 3 weeks ago. I am quite certain Sophos is the process causing it, as no other hardware or software changes happened around the same time.

It seem impossible to test if problem persists with Sophos not running, since it seems impossible to disable the app running in the background; even when logging into another user account (since Sophos lives in the root).

Does anyone have the same experience?

Any suggestions?

Any help is appreciated.

Best, Thomas
