Sophos v9 detection rate not improving?

Hey there base on this test report by an individual, it seems that your detection rate has not improved and there are a few locations/files that you miss.. Avast seems to be improving their detection rate. Could you update your database/scan engine to improve the detection rate at those missing location/files

Other vendors also seem to use this results and it seems that F-secure improve its detection rate once after those results are release

I set it to 50% and view it in sections. Sophos is isn't too far off to the side, so it's not that difficult to go back to the defintions and look across, going back and forth.

There a problem viewing pdf with lots of data on mavericks. reported the problem to apple but it isnt fix. you cant use preview or safari or even firefox or else it will crash /hang. only chrome can open it up fine.

Thanks - Chrome is better.

In order to detect them (improve SAV's detection rate) SophosLabs would need to have samples. SophosLabs won't be able to get hold of them unless they are supplied or available for download from a source. Let me know if they are available somewhere and I'll pass it along.

Using http://securityspread.com/contact/ I have sent an email to Security Spread, with the link you supplied for the upload of malware samples and a link to this discussion. Might I suggest that you contact them directly as well, since they may react more positively to a request they perceive as genuinely coming from Sophos, not from a Sophos user.
I'd like to see Sophos rated at least as highly as Intego, and if the only reason it isn't is because of a number of missing malware samples, then I hope everyone involved can get this hooked up as quickly as possible.
