Do I need to double up? Firewall and Mac Protection?

I'm getting ready to install the Sophos UTM Home Edition firewall and am currently running Sophos Home Edition on my mac and on my Android Phone.  Is is necissary to double up on this or should I switch out Sophos Mac/Android for a different program since I'm already protected by the Sophos Firewall?  May sound like a silly quesiton but I haven't been able to get a straight answer.

    The UTM is a network (perimeter) firewall. It protects the boundaries of the the network and therefore the computers on that network that connect to the Internet through it. However when a computer or device (such as a smartphone) move off the network (e.g., to the local coffee shop, or a friends Wifi) the protection is left behind.  Furthermore neither Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac nor the Android app have a firewall.

    Hence for best protection you should consider setting up the UTM but in all cases keep the local security programs installed on your devices.
