Hi,
when I run apache maven to build a java software project, since some 2 months or so, intercheck blocks the process for about one minute with 100% cpu load before maven (mvn clean install) starts.
How can i circumvent this?
What is intercheck doing that uses so much cpu?
Can I exclude mvn from being scanned?
Java and jar files can cause the on-access scanner a lot of work.
In Preferences, from the on-access tab [1] ensure under the 'Options' tab [2] you have compressed files unchecked [3] - this is default and so would be off out of the box. Both can/should be unchecked if you have problems.
If you are still having an issue use the 'Excluded Items' tab [4] to add paths for the working folders and similar where Maven may be writing and reading a lot of files - that's what is causing the CPU to spike. Note: Sophos doesn't keep a list of exclusions (because there are loads and loads of applications out there and are changing all the time) so maybe speak to their support for key folders and paths - we can certainly take that list and help you implement them.
