Newly Installed Sophos - How does it work?

I just downloaded SOPHOS 'Free 30 day Trial" as recommended by a fellow at the APPLE store. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to run it. It has been downloaded. It's sitting in my downloads file, but when I click on in in my downloads, it opens up the same box that asked me to agree to the terms, and then to install it. It should be installed? What am I doing wrong? Help? I need to run a check on my laptop (OS X 10.7 Lion). I read it was easy, but its not. Not to me. :-)

You downloaded a trial? Is that because the computer is used for business? If you're using the Mac for just your home stuff you can get the free (non-trial) Home Edition:

Rough process is normally: Download > Install > Update > Run a scan > Leave it alone to protect in he background (real time checking of files being opened on the Mac and blocking those that are malware).
