Virus detected, then on scaning says 'no threats detected'

Hi all, I've had 2 pop up messages this morning that viruses have been detected (one in skype, one in a work email pop account), have gone to the quarantine manager and they say clean up manually. I have set up scans for them for the right file paths identified, but when it runs the scan its says no threats detected.... confused! Anybody know why this may be? (NB preferences were not set up to delete threat on scanning - only set to log them). Thanks in advance!

  • This can happen if the files in question are no longer present (server share unmounted, temporary files deleted by an application, or something similar). If you are using different scan settings (for example, scan archives in one but not the other) you can get different results. In very, very rare circumstances the scanner can "change its mind" based on additional real-time data (that is the Live Protection feature). This may or may not explain your situation, will need some more details to know more.
