Won't scan Mountain Lion

I have loaded Sophos AV on two computers. My older Macbook Pro running OSX 10.6.8 and my new Macbook Air running OSX 10.8.2. I did load the newer version for the Mountain Lion OS on the newer machine. The computers are identical as I just loaded from a backup to the new Macbook Air. I starter Sophos at the same time on both computers and the Mountain Lion machine is still "calculating" while the Snow Leopard machine has completed scanning. Any suggestions?

How long have you waited for Calculating to complete? On Lion and Mountain Lion, this can take a few minutes on the first run, due to some architectural changes in the way Apple is caching some files.

I had waited over an hour before I closed Sophos. The other machine running Snow Leopard had finished the whole scan and the Mountain Lion machine was still caculating.

That's definitely a problem. Do custom scans work correctly?

Did anyone solve this ? I've been having the same problem - I have no idea whether Sophos is actually protecting my machine.
PS - there seems to be a lot of posts about this problem, so it must be known to Sophos ?
