Today since about 1pm central time I cannot Update Now the virus/malware definitons b/c cannot contact primary center. The secondary server contact option is greyed out in the Preferences. My other computers in another city can contact, and also the menu gliding works on them (they are mac lion and mac mountain lion). This computer is mountain lion. By menu gliding I mean, once you click on a menu item on the right, such as date, or keyboard layout, or volume, or time machine, you can move the mouse and neighboring menu will show dropped down, without a click. But this is no longer happening on this computer, even after reboot. Should I be concerned? the menu gliding in the application menus on the left still works as expected. I am worried that I might have caught some malware that disabled the update process and is messing up the right-hand-side menu glide. Information from About Sophos Anti-Virus:
