Is reinstallation needed before/after Mac OS X update?

Hello,

at June 4, the new version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4) was released. Should users of OS X 10.8.3, who have installed Sophos AV for Mac Home Edition, uninstall it before OS update and install it again after the update process ends? Or can they leave Sophos for Home installed and after OS update it will work correctly?

Thanks in advance for your answers :)

Sophos doesn't need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled after the OS update. If you wish, you can boot into Safe Mode (hold down the shift key at the startup chime) and then run the OS update; Sophos and other third party software will be disabled, in case you're concerned about interference. I just ran the combo updater for 10.8.4 and had no difficulty. If I remember correctly, the Sophos update took a bit longer afterwards and may have been in recognition of the OS update. I use "Update Now" when I boot or reboot, which includes after system updates, so I can get an idea of what Sophos is doing.
