I have MBP using OS 10.6.8 and I started having some trouble in a forum,, with whacky typing and I got some fake notices from Paypal and Amazon wanted me to redo my credit cards because of non use when I bought something a week ago. I have never had a virus protection program on my Mac and I've had it since 2007. At that time, I transferred all my stuff, including tons of email from my Windows computer.
Today I scanned local drives and it found ten threats as follows:
Eight are
W32/MyDoom-N
One is: Mal/Generic-L
And one that says it can't be fixed and a search found no information on is: Mal/Bckdr-BE
Now I am not sure what to do next The W32's have to be removed manually, the Mal/Generic-L and the Mal/Bckdr-BE just say clean up on the right. Should I take my laptop into an apple store or other tech place to get these removed or is it just something I can click on and remove and know that I got it all? It seems that they all says they are on Windows systems except the BCKDR_BE and that one nothing comes up when Sophos searches for it. I do know use Windows on my Mac, but I did transfer a lot of data back in 2007. I am very concerned at the moment about access to my credit cards, etc. on my computer.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
