Why is Sophos Anti-Virus reporting Sophos's own VDL files as viruses that should be deleted ?

Sophos is frequently reporting its own VDL files as viruses and recommending they be cleaned in the Quarantine Manager. 

Why would Sophos ever do this ?  Doesn't Sophos recognize its own virus definition files ?  Why would it ever recommend Clean Up  on these files ? 

They show up in the Quarantine Manager.  

Is this some kind of new virus that makes Sophos attack itself ?

I'm on Mac OX X Lion

    Ok, so Sophos is reporting the wrong path to its files. Isn't that a huge security risk that Sophos is giving out incorrect and false information about the files on my system.  If Sophos is doing this, couldn't a hijacking hacker do the exact same thing ? How would I know the difference ?

    Isn't this a huge defect ?

    Is there an open defect on this ? If not, how do I open one about this severe issue ?

    When do we expect this will be fixed ?
