"On Access Sanner Failed to Set Preference"

This morning I got a messag saying Sophos was not running anymore.

If I click Start Scanning, it says "On Access Sanner Failed to Set Preference"

If I click Restore Defaults, it makes no difference.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong here?

    Hi.

    I just installed v8 and the On-Access scanner wouldn't work at all.  I uninstalled the software, restarted my macbook (Snow Leopard), reinstalled the software with no other programs running and it worked fine.  I know that's a pain, but have you tried that?  Might be worth a shot...
