7.2.4 (paid) vs Home edition

Hey all,

I recently purchased my Mac from my employer (University) that ran version 7.2.4 of Sophos antivirus. Of course I cannot get this to update away from the Uni server and was wondering whether I'm better off paying for a Sophos year license or chaging out to the home edition. Does anyone have any insight into the pros/cons of either version?

    Sophos does not sell a home user product... the free one is the only thing available.

    There are some good writeups on here regarding the differences between the products, as well as how to uninstall the enterprise version and install the home version.

    Short story: Unless you have a large network with multiple endpoints on a mixed network, the enterprise version has no added benefit other than that it comes with actual customer support instead of just this community forum.
