Restarted my Mac and Sophos not working

So I downlaoded Sophos anti-virus for Mac and it worked great! But then I decided to turn off my computer one night and noticed when I turned on that instead of it being a black shield instead there was a GREY "X" in the shield. It now won't let me do anything with Sophos including not auto-updating, manually updating, or scanning drives.  How can I have the software working again?!??

P.S. I uninstalled and re-installed the software and the same problem seems to happen if the MAC (mac pro, intel) is powered down or system restarted :(

  • This could be related to the login issue that a few others have experienced on this forum.  After starting up your computer, wait for a minute or so at the login screen before logging in.  Does this fix the problem?  Hopefully the issue will be resolved with the 8.0.4 update.
