clean up manually

Hello.

Using the quarantine manager, I'm trying to clean up manually. I'm following instructions offered here http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/112129.html at #4 for mac os computers. I'm stuck at step 11 which says to create a custom scan. It doesn't say how. I can't figure out how.

Looking ahead down the list, I see it says to select 'delete threat' in the Options tab? WHAT Options tab? Where?

I love computers.

  • In the Open dialog, press command-shift-. (that's a period).  This will show you all files and folders, including hidden ones, such as .Trash

However, the .Trash folder is where stuff goes that's been thrown in the trash can.  So, instead of creating a custom scan, I'd suggest temporarily disabling on-access scanning and emptying the trash.  Then re-enable on-access scanning.  As the item was already in the trash can, it will be erased.
