The on-access is disabled. I've uninstalled (actually uninstalled what was left over after running your uninstaller) Sophos and reinstalled it. Still gray icon in menu bar.
The last scan showed come corrupt files. Can't remove them.

Shows that there are issues, but no way to resolve them.
I don't know enough about Terminal (working on it) to remove them (I'm the only user of my computer, an admin), but when I do try to put the file name in, this is what I get:
