On Access Scanning - Exclusion of SQL

How do I tell Sophos not to scan MySQL when I startup MailSteward Pro.  I believe it is performing a scan at access.  I tried adding MailSteward Pro to the exclusion list but that does not solve my hanging startup.  When I disable on access scanning the issue goes away.

Please advise.

    You'll need to exclude the MySQL database that MailSteward Pro is using; not being familiar with the program, I'm not sure where it would be located.  ~/Library/Application Support/MailSteward Pro/ or similar is a good first guess, however.

    This will of course mean that any malicious content that makes it into the database will no longer be scanned on access.
