COMPLETELY uninstall/delete Sophos Anti-Virus from Mac? (please read!)

Hi everybody,

I have a short question and hope that somebody can help me: I tried the Anti-Virus software on my Mac and uninstalled it correctly. However, there still stays a Sophos Anti-Virus folder in private/var/root/Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus and a preference file in private/var/root/Library/Preferences. I have no permission to access/modify these folders (even as an administrator) and the Sophos uninstall package in the Application Support folder is already deleted.

Do you have any hint how to get rid of these last two "traces"? Any terminal command to do so? I like a clean system (I'm a bit "Monk"-like ...) so if you have any suggestion, it would be nice if you could let me know.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

That was a specific answer to a specific question; it is not a method to uninstall Sophos; it is a method to remove the plists and log files that an uninstall leaves behind.  To uninstall Sophos Anti-Virus, run the Sophos Remove.app program in your Applications folder.
