Sophos Hangs Up when almost done.

I am on a Mac G4 PPC with two internal and two external drives. I am running OSX 10.4.11.  I just installed Sophos. I tried to do a "Scan Local Drives". Sophos showed that I had 1.5 M of files to scan. The first scan ran over night down to 14,xxx files and stopped. I tried running a second scan and it ran down to 17,820 files and stopped.

Help! What is wrong?

    Yes; when the progress bar stops but the animation continues, this implies that you're unpacking and scanning an archive.  The progress bar will continue to move once all files in that archive have been decompressed and scanned.  This issue is related too the "Where has all my drive space gone?" issue raised in numerous other threads.
