I used the Sophos Free Logging preference to clear Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus.log. (It was 34 MB, containing mostly years old settings migrated from an older Mac.) I do not know if that is the cause of this, but now whenever I open Sophos, the Mac system.log file begins to fill up with messages of the type listed below whenever the Sophos preferences window is open, one pair every 5 seconds.
com.apple.SecurityServer[18]: Succeeded authorizing right 'com.sophos.preferences' by client '/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app' [72453] for authorization created by '/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app' [72453] (100012,0)
and
com.apple.SecurityServer[18]: Succeeded authorizing right 'com.sophos.cleanup' by client '/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app' [72453] for authorization created by '/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app' [72453] (100012,0)
This continues indefinitely until I close the preferences window.
I assume this is not the expected behavior!
Running OS 10.8.3 & Sophos 8.0.12C
