Protection for windows explorer

Hi I just installed Sophos for mac on my macbookpro. I also just installed Windows 7 and need to download Internet explorer for my wife's work. Will Sophos protect me against Window attacks? Thanks.

Sophos for Mac only protects the Mac operating system (and locally mounted disks).
If you have installed Windows (boot camp, virtual machine, etc.) on a Mac then Sophos for Mac doesn't scan that. Sophos does a free on demand scanner called the 'Sophos Virus Removal Tool' but it doesn't have realtime scanning. See: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool.aspx
If you want realtime scanning protection for Windows you'll have to buy it.
