Sophos blocking SuperDuper backup

Is there any resolution to this issue reported in another thread?  There was one mail item arrived which was put in quarantine (a windows virus) but this action prevented SuperDuper from backing up.  Given that the likelihood of a hard drive failure is probably an order of magnitude greater than actually getting any dedicated Mac malware, I'm minded to uninstall Sophos.

  • Sorry, could only find a few old posts.  What's the problem you see?  All I can see is that the on-access scanner is blocking a threat when the backup is run.  This stops SuperDuper from completing with and error like...

TIME | Error | SDCopy: Error copying /Volumes/Disk Image/eicar-2.com to /Volumes/SanDisk Cruzer/eicar-2.com of type 8 due to error 13: Permission denied

     ...which would be expected.

Managed to video to the behavior too...

Is this what you're seeing or is there unexpected behavior occuring?
