Sophos AV 9 does not uninstall from mac

Hi,

I have been using Sophos AV 9 for a while then tried to uninstall it because it refused to update the deffinitions files.  Using the uninstall function it only partly uninstalled the antivirus.  Now I have part of the antivirus on my computer (on the toolbar by the time icon at the top) which I can not uninstall.  Have tried searching my computer for files related sophos and I can not find any to remove.  When I have tried to install another antivirus it says Sophos is active.  Not sure how to remove the resudule part of sophos.

Would apprecate your ideas and help.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the suggestion I tried to reinstall Sophos AV 9 but I got a message stating "The installation Failed.  The sofware was not installed successfully.  Remove the software and re-instsll."  So it seems like I am back to the same situation with only part of the AV functional.  Do you have any other ideas?
