7.2.4 (paid) vs Home edition

Hey all,

I recently purchased my Mac from my employer (University) that ran version 7.2.4 of Sophos antivirus. Of course I cannot get this to update away from the Uni server and was wondering whether I'm better off paying for a Sophos year license or chaging out to the home edition. Does anyone have any insight into the pros/cons of either version?

    Hello BK,

    if the university offers SAV (I assume this is covered by their license) it should also provide the necessary updating infrastructure (but this might require that you are "inside" the network by whatever means). In terms of protection the products are practically identical. The licensed version can be centrally managed - but I doubt that this will apply in your case if you don't even get updates.
