Sophos AV for Mac doesn't show icon in my tool bar

My usage stats show the app is running but there's no icon anywhere on my tool bar. If this doen't work, how do I know anything else will?  Anyone know where the problem is?

    I experience the same behaviour as the original poster after installing the Sophos Free AV for Mac on 1st Apr 2011. The shield icon was there straight after the installation, but disappeared when I rebooted the machine and logged back on (with the limited user account always used by the operator of the MacBook). There seems to be plenty of room for icons next to the wireless icon - in any case I would hope the AV is not the last application to startup. This is on OS X Tiger (10.4). This is a machine I'm remotely supporting so I haven't got access to it all the time to run tests etc, so getting more info out of it might be tricky... Cheers Alex
