seth avazu tracking net redirect virus

Hello,

Does your AV remove this virus (seth avazu tracking net redirect virus) on a MAC? If not do you have a manual removal procedure? I found one for Windows.

Delete cookies.
Then delete these hidden files and registry entries.

%AppData%\Local\[random].exe
c:\windows\system32\[random].exe
%AllUsersProfile%\{random}\
%AllUsersProfile%\{random}\*.lnk
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “random ”
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run random.exe

    Thanks for your interest in our Mac product. Our product detects Windows executables and documents containing potentially malcious content, however the Mac product does not clean up a Windows system directly (our Windows product does an excellent job of identifying and removal from Windows). If you have concerns and aren't yet a Sophos customer, give our free Virus Remove Tool a try.

    Its free and you don't need to uninstall any existing software to run it.

    Hello,

    I was doing research on the web for this virus as well and my Firefox window automatically opened with seth. avautracking page a few times. Could you please tell us the answer Sophos on this page to what to do if this page comes up. Firefox 22.0 would not allow this page to open. My settings were on block reproted attack sties, web forgeries.

    I think I don't have it. None of the symptons seem to happen. (home page changes, pop up ads don't come up, etc) but not sure. I deleted the cookie folder in prefeerences.

    It seems to be dangerous but not sure about MACS.

    I went to ad ons in Firefox and extensions, plug ins and did not see the seth avazu tracking name there? Could you tell us more. Where does it come from and why? Thank you.
