Hi there,
A friend of mine had their email account hacked, I received an email with a link and clicked it. Stupid I know, but that friend has been known to just send me links. I realized what was going on when I clicked that link, since the page was for some random dieting product. I didn't fill anything out, didn't click anything. Just closed the page, deleted the email, cleared my browser cache and let my friend know what happened.
Couple hours later Sophos gives me this message. (edit: my image is not showing up, here's the url http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1053bpf&s=6 )
Okay, so I click the "open quarantine manager" button and the quarantine manager page itself is empty. I kept getting that warning afterwards, but no indication why.
So I went and googled the warning message, this is what came up. Mal/Phish-A
Looks like it might just be that email from before that didn't get deleted completely. I went back and made sure that email was deleted from my mail app, turns out I missed another version. Warnings are gone, I think I'm good to go. But the way this played out was pretty weird.
Why didn't I get that message after I recieved that email?
Why was the quarantine manager window blank?
Also, what does the 'Virus/Spyware' part of the warning mean? Does that indicate the category? Or is it a separate file?
