Incomplete, aborted install on Linux Mint 17.1, can't restart the install process in terminal. help

I tried to install sophos av onto my Linux Mint 17.1, and it crashed. Now when I try to re-trace my steps I am told that the /opt/sophosav already exists, so it won't install. How can I remedy this? Can the opt folder be wiped clean? It also has Google Chrome folder within it.

You can delete the /opt/sophos-av directory, although you should try running /opt/sophos-av/uninstall.sh if it exists first.

There are some files outside /opt/sophos-av that SAV installs, but those should be replaced if you re-install.
